Serina was originally born in France in the late 1800s, and married off to a rich, low-ranking lord at the age of 17. She was raised to understand the intricacies of business and politics, and swiftly took over all of Lord Travere's dealings as his health began to fail. Under her guidance, and with the Travere signet ring available for her every whim and choice, Serina took their meager mercantile business out of obscurity and into the forefront of several industries. The lady's insatiable lust for power drove her to take bigger and greater risks, and the returns on investment were well worth it.
After her husband's death barely a year after the marriage, the Lady Travere struck out into the depths of Parisian hedonism among high society. Her thirst for power and need for everything new drove her to seek out all earthly pleasures, from fine wines and foods to narcotics and sex. It was among these circles that she took a charming and (seemingly) young man under her wing as a lover and sponsor. In return, he took her to new heights of power and pleasure - but not without risk. A few months into their relationship, Serina falls gravely ill from blood loss as a result of the frequent bites she courts. Rather than face death, she takes the offer to be turned, and begins her life anew as a vampire.
Now unbound from mortality, Serina ruthlessly pushes her business and her hedonism to new heights. The Travere business empire has expanded its reach to six continents, now properly distributed to allow her the anonymity the lady requires. She parties as hard as she works and is forever searching for the next high or thrill. Her only constant in life is her business, and she refuses to change that.
Character Notes:
-As with most vampires, Serina is incredibly strong and fast. Unless prompted to use it, though, she keeps the appearance of being a meek and delicate woman.
-Serina prefers not to use her vampiric charms and persuasion (as mild as gentle suggestion in a person's senses or severe as putting someone under her thrall), but she won't hesitate if it's necessary for her survival.
-Serina's most notable personality traits are her aggression, playfulness, and selfishness. And yes, she will throw tantrums if she doesn't get her way.
